Emirates unveils new signature livery for its fleet with refreshing changes

Emirates, the largest international airline in the world, has recently revealed its new signature livery for its fleet, featuring a refreshing and updated design. President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, emphasized the importance of aircraft livery as a visual representation of the airline's unique identity that is proudly displayed in all the cities it flies to around the world. He explained that the new design aims to keep the livery modern while retaining key elements of the airline's identity, such as the UAE flag on the tailfin and Arabic calligraphy.

The new design includes several noticeable changes, especially on the tailfin and wingtips of the aircraft. The UAE flag on the tailfin has been given a more dynamic and flowing 3D effect artwork, while the wingtips are now painted in red with the Emirates logo etched in both Arabic and English calligraphy. Passengers with a window view will also notice the UAE flag colours on the wingtips facing the fuselage.

Emirates' iconic gold lettering is still showcased across the main body of the aircraft in both English and Arabic, but with some minor additions. The font is now bolder and 23.5% larger than previous designs. Additionally, the eye-catching red branding introduced in 2005 has been retained on the aircraft belly, but the website URL 'Emirates.com' has been removed from the new design.

This is the third iteration of Emirates' official brand colours, with the original livery introduced during the airline's launch in 1985 and the first modifications made 14 years later with the delivery of Emirates' first Boeing 777-300. The brand-new livery was revealed on the A6-EOE Airbus A380, which rolled out of Emirates Engineering last week.

Emirates plans to gradually apply the new livery across its existing fleet, with 24 aircraft expected to be fully transformed and in service by the end of 2023. Furthermore, all new aircraft, including the first Airbus A350 entering the fleet in August 2024, will be delivered in this livery. The new design reflects Emirates' commitment to maintaining its unique identity while staying current and modern in a constantly evolving aviation industry.
